Chouettes

Chouettes are often played when there is a group of around four to six players present.
In each game one player takes on a team comprising all the rest.
The single player (the "man in the box") continues to play against the team until he/she loses.
In the team, there is a captain, who has the final say on all decisions, and the captaincy is rotated.
When the team wins the captain takes over as the man in the box.
Each member of the team has his/her own doubling cube, and a running total of each player's points is maintained after each game, so that the winners and losers are clear at the end of the session.
In Bristol, the team can discuss decisions on moves once doubling cubes have been brought into play, but not before then.
Chouettes are a great learning medium.
