Consulting Doubles events
A free date already booked at the BCSC, November 24th 2005, was used to launch the concept of Consulting Doubles tournaments for the first time in Bristol.
Using BIBA Saturday night doubles tournaments as the inspiration, while attempting to keep the stronger players apart, was the springboard for what proved to be a successful venture, and the fore-runner of a new competition from 2006, the Consulting Doubles Grand Prix, consisting of four such events.
The grand prix has continued as an integral part of the Bristol Backgammon calendar.
