The details:
On Mondays (as opposed to our Thursday competition sessions) the accent is very much on fun and learning aspects of the game, so it's an ideal opportunity to welcome new and developing players.
If you wish, you will get individual attention from an experienced player.
For this session, there is likely to be an emphasis on chouette.
For the uninitiated, chouette is a way of involving a group of players in a single series of games.
One player (the "man in the box") takes on the rest until he/she loses a game, whereupon the winning team's captain takes over in the box. Captaincy of the team is rotated.
Typically, every member of the team has his/her own doubling cube, and he or she will make doubling decisions on an individual basis.
Play will be for pre-determined stakes, although devoting a whole evening to chouette means that we can offer new players the chouette experience without the inherent financial risks.
